Il Ngwesi Lodge

 Il Ngwesi Lodge is located in the fully Masai owned Il Ngwesi Group Ranch North of Mt. Kenya in the Laikipia region. The group ranch is dedicated to conserving the land and wildlife while preserving and sharing its culture and heritage with other people. The community-run lodge looks out over the vast landscape of Kenya's Northern Frontier District – over unspoiled land where not a single light shines out and only the chorus of African bush is heard both day and night.

Accommodation at Il-ngwesi-lodge

 Il Ngwesi is a beautiful eco lodge built using local materials, overlooking the vast lands of the Northern Frontier. Each banda is built with an open-to-the-bush design. The design allows our guests to enjoy the sights and sounds of wildlife during the day, and sleep out under the stars in the evening. Each room has been expertly crafted with local materials to fit in beautifully with the surrounding environment. The rooms have bathrooms with all the amenities of home. as a special treat, the showers are positioned just outside of the rooms and are open to the bush for wildlife and nature viewing while taking a refreshing shower. Water is heated by a solar-heating system which keeps water hot at any time of the day and night.
There is a comfortable mess designed to allow guests some time for relaxation or a quick nap after a game drive.

Dining

 Meals at Il Ngwesi are of the highest standards. For those looking to sample Masai cuisine, this can be prepared upon request. Meals can also be served by the poolside for those guests who wish to eat there. Bush meals can also be organized to enhance the dining experience.

Activities at Il-ngwesi-lodge

 Game drives are the most popular activity at Il Ngwesi. Guests can tour Il Ngwesi and the neighboring Lewa Conservancy with a Masai guide. Other activities include guided bush walks, bird watching, visits to the Rhino Sanctuary, and visits to the Masai Village. The Lodge has an infinity swimming pool which is always warm and is ideal for guests to relax in after a long day of game drives.
